DISABILITY INCLUSION · MEDICAL EDUCATION
Rethinking who belongs in medicine.
Peter Poullos, MD, brings the perspectives of a physician, educator, and disability advocate to conversations about how healthcare can include more people—and serve them better.

Speaking topics
Disability as diversity
Recognizing disability as part of human variation, confronting ableism, and building a culture of belonging in healthcare.
Designing inclusive medical education
How accommodations, accessible environments, and flexible approaches to learning can improve medical education for everyone.
Health equity and lived experience
What the experiences of disabled patients and clinicians reveal about barriers to care—and opportunities to change them.
A clinical and personal perspective
After a spinal cord injury during his gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Poullos retrained in radiology. He is now a Clinical Professor of Radiology and Medicine at Stanford and the founder of the Stanford Medicine Alliance for Disability Inclusion and Equity (SMADIE).
His work connects lived experience with practical questions about access, training, and the healthcare workforce.
